NAMI Piedmont Family-to-Family Class
The spring NAMI Piedmont Family-to-Family Class will begin on Tuesday, April 3rd. It will be held from 6:30 – 9:00PM at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. The class is free, but registration is required.
Since the class enrollment is limited to 20, please contact either Kathy Weigel (firstname.lastname@example.org / 540-347-9104) or Jane Garland (email@example.com) to enroll by March 31st. The class is filling-up, so please contact us, as soon as possible, if you’re interested.
This class is opened to family members, close friends, or significant others of individuals living with a mental illness. It is appropriate for attendees between the ages of 16 on up. It covers mental health issues which effect loved ones in their late teens through adult years.
The topics covered in this class include discussion of the various mental illnesses, crisis intervention, problem solving techniques, and communication skills. Empathy, recovery, resources, the brain, and advocacy are also reviewed during this course. You are given the opportunity to interact with individuals who are experiencing some of the struggles you are and share ideas too.
